Have a chill night out at the Johnnie Walker House in BGC

A feature on the outdoor bar Johnnie Walker House.

Ever since I was introduced to alcohol, the Johnnie Walker brand has always piqued my interest. Being that it is the world’s number one whisky, Johnnie Walker is the type of drink you know you’d enjoy not only on special occasions but also at casual hangouts.

Last Oct. 5, Johnnie Walker launched the Johnnie Walker House, an outdoor bar at Burgos Park in BGC. With its current location (just in front of Tipsy Pig), the House is a perfect spot to have a chill night out with friends or co-workers after a long week of work.

There are tons of ways you can enjoy a Johnnie Walker drink. The Johnnie Walker House is a highball bar where you can choose from different mixes and flavors. During the launch, the House served the Black Smoky Highball, Double Black Creamy Highball, and Gold Fruity Highball drinks. I tried the Black Smoky Highball which had the Johnnie Walker Black Label with ginger ale, burnt rosemary, and salt. I also got to drink the Gold Fruity Highball which had the Johnnie Walker Gold Label Reserve with apple juice, apple slice, and brown sugar.

The drinks exceeded my expectations, maybe even setting the bar for all the whisky I’ll drink in the future. They both served different delicious flavors but gave the same signature smoothness of Johnnie Walker.

Aside from the drinks, the event was a night filled with music and fun conversations. I can say that we all felt at home at the Johnnie Walker House.

The Johnnie Walker House is open every Tuesday to Saturday from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. until Oct. 25. After that, the location of the Johnnie Walker House will move around Metro Manila. The next destination will be at Greenbelt 3 in Makati and will be serving drinks from Nov. 18 to Dec. 28.
